This homemade revolver flamethrower has been a personal project that I’ve been doing in my spare time from school. And it took me a little over a week from idea to final renders to finish it. My main idea with this project was to try and come up with a concept for some type of a homemade weapon. In the end this is where I ended up. I wanted to spend some extra time on texturing, since this is still an area where I think I can improve a lot. I wanted to make sure the weapon was game-ready, and I kept it as low-poly as I could, considering all the different unconnected parts and holes. Parallel to this project we had a VFX course at school, and I did use some principles from that course for the fire effects to be able to redo the effects easily in Unreal or similiar engines for future game projects.
For the presentation image I felt something was missing, so I also made a couple of simple FPS hands and a simple rig to be able to use it for the scene, but also for future projects. A big thanks to my brother Aleks Praizovic for the awesome graphical layouts for the spray cans. And also a big thanks to everyone at school for all the feedback throughout the process.
